Coming Solar Eclipse Seen as ’Judgement’

A solar eclipse coming on March 20 won’t just be an astronomical wonder – it will be an event that may be unprecedented in human history, according to biblical experts who say it is an unmistakable sign of judgment.

Root Source Ltd., which provides Christians access to Jewish teachings online, reports the eclipse will darken the sun just in time for the sunrise at the North Pole, where it will be visible for two minutes.

It will happen both on the first day of spring and on the first day of the Jewish religious calendar, the beginning of the month of Nisan.

Passover Blood Moon Preceded by Exceedingly Rare Solar Eclipse

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” (Joel 2:31)

An exceedingly rare solar eclipse will take place next week over a most symbolic location on a day infused with both great natural significance and profound religious meaning. There will be a total eclipse of the sun for two minutes over the North Pole on Friday, March 20, the day of the Spring Equinox which coincides with the beginning of the Hebrew month of Nissan, the first month in the Biblical calendar year, a solar occurrence that has never happened before in human history.

A Complete Guide to the March 20th Total Solar Eclipse

The first of two eclipse seasons for the year is upon us this month, and kicks off with the only total solar eclipse for 2015 on Friday, March 20th.

And what a bizarre eclipse it is. Not only does this eclipse begin just 15 hours prior to the March equinox marking the beginning of astronomical spring in the northern hemisphere, but the shadow of totality also beats path through the high Arctic and ends over the North Pole.

Already, umbraphiles — those who chase eclipses — are converging on the two small tracts of terra firma where the umbra of the Moon makes landfall: the Faroe and Svalbard islands. All of Europe, the northern swath of the African continent, north-central Asia and the Middle East will see a partial solar eclipse, and the eclipse will be deeper percentage-wise the farther north you are.

Christian Look to Torah Portion to Prove Solar Eclipse is the “Shadow of God”

“On the first day of the first month shalt thou rear up the Tabernacle of the tent of meeting.” (Exodus 40:2)

For centuries, the weekly Torah portion was the exclusive domain of the Jewish people. However, non-Jews have recently started to look into the Torah portion for instruction and meaning as well.

Prominent Christian leaders told Breaking Israel News they have found connections to the upcoming solar eclipse in Saturday’s Torah portion and its modern day implications.

“The time has come when non-Jews are realizing they have been taught lies. Why would people want a counterfeit when there is an original? We study the Torah portions to connect with the Jews all over world and because we believe the Torah is still relevant today,” Pastor Mark Biltz, the bestselling author of “Blood Moons,” told Breaking Israel News. “I bring in commentaries by Rashi, Rambam, Ramban and others because of the incredible insights. Non-Jews are discovering what they have missed by not studying in context.”

2014 Passover Begins with a Blood Moon

This year, there will be two total lunar eclipses known in laymen’s terms as “blood moons”. The first will occur on the first full day of Passover Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 9:46AM Israeli Time. The second will occur on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 12:25PM Israeli time. Sukkot also known as the Feast of Tabernacles will begin at sundown on October 8th. In 2015, next year, two more blood moons will follow the same pattern, occurring on the first days of those two major Jewish holidays.

When a set of four scientific occurrences unusually happens so closely together, it is called a tetrad. Thus, the phrase “blood moon tetrad” has been coined over the past seven years in writings of several scientific and religious thinkers.

The reason for this can be traced to the Jewish Talmud, an important Jewish text used to define religious Jewish law and Moses’ five books known as the Torah. Tractate Sukkah 29 a indicates that if the moon is in eclipse, it is a sign of wrath that will come upon Israel while solar eclipse of the sun is a bad omen for the world. In the case of a blood moon eclipse, the Talmud adds that: “If its face is as red as blood, (it is a sign that) the sword is coming to the world.” In summary, Lunar Eclipse = bad omen for the Jewish people and Israel; Blood Moon = sword coming; Solar Eclipse = bad omen for the world.

Blood Moon Rising (This Passover)

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” (Joel 2:31)

The world is preparing itself for a rare astrological event that commenced last April during Passover, and will continue now over the Sukkot (Tabernacles) holiday. A series of four full lunar eclipses in a row called blood moons (due to the red color of the moons glow) is occurring over the course of the next two years. Two of the blood moons will take place on the second night of Passover and the other two on the first night of the Sukkot holiday.

The term “blood moon” stems from a verse from the Book of Joel (2:31) that describes the moon as turning to blood before the an awesome revelation from God will occur. The issue of blood moons has even spurred a whole literary movement of the topic. Pastor John Hagee authored a Christian bestseller titled “Four Blood Moons,” based on discoveries by Pastor Mark Blitz, leader of El Shaddai Ministry, a “Hebrew Roots” ministry in Tacoma Washington.
